Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our facility’s equipment, vehicles, and mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient operations for our senior participants and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, including HVAC systems, kitchen appliances, and accessibility equipment
- Maintain and service facility vehicles used for senior transportation
- Occasionally provide transportation services for senior participants when needed
- Conduct regular safety inspections of mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues
- Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility standards
- Respond to emergency repair requests as needed
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialized services are required
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a mechanic (automotive, facility maintenance, or related field)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Basic computer skills for record keeping
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- English proficiency required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various physical positions
- Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual capabilities in Vietnamese, Korean, and/or Spanish highly preferred
- Certification in HVAC, automotive repair, or related field
- Experience working in healthcare or senior care facilities
- Knowledge of ADA compliance requirements
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
